Text Box: Q: What do you mean by "Promotional CD?"

A: A promotional CD is a Compact Disc that never made it to the retail shelf. It was probably given to a radio station to encourage airplay or to an industry executive as a gift. It may have no UPC Code, or it may have a paper hole punch through the UPC Code. It may even have a tiny cut through the jewel box above or below the UPC code as well. In many cases, there is no cut or hole at all. In those instances, the CD may be stamped with “Promotional” or the jewel box may be marked in some way.

Q: Why is your Promotional CD described as “VERY GOOD” but you have it listed in the “ACCEPTABLE” category on Half.Com?

A: Half.Com policy prohibits Promo CDs from being listed anywhere except “Acceptable,” regardless of their condition. A CD we list as “Very Good Promo” will have all the music and all the artwork in a solid jewelbox, unless stated otherwise in the description. The vast majority of the time our “Acceptable Very Good Promo” CDs are in much better condition that our competition’s “Acceptable” CDs.
